Element:Vitico1-1

Description

Vitico1-1 (Vitis Copia element type 1-1) is an Oryco-like Ty1/Copia LTR retrotransposon found in the genome of Vitis vinifera (Llorens et al. 2009). The genome of Vitico1-1 is 4646 bp in size, including LTRs of 302 (5’LTR) and 301 nts long (3’LTR). The internal region of this element presents a single ORF displaying the distinct gag and pol domains in the ORF order typical of Ty1/Copia LTR retrotransposons (Llorens et al. 2009).
